Jack Harding was born in Newport, Rhode Island in 2003. He recently graduated with his Studio Arts Bachelor’s degree from Salve Regina University

His work explores the beauty that can be found through emotions and extremity. He is fascinated by the relation between our inner feelings and their outward manifestation on our faces. Jack’s art explores how images convey emotions and how they can captivate viewers. His subject matter most often includes exagerated expressions, but always has a feeling imbued within.

To Jack, the fact that emotions and socializing are so important to humans means it’s no wonder expressive faces litter our media and art. He also believes that as a result of this constant inundation of expressions, we can forget how strange it is to interpret feelings from arbitrary creases on a face.

To Jack, expressions are not only captivating to gaze upon and mysterious in their mechanics, they are a means by which his art making can help process his own inner emotions.
